How to overcome doubts

What are Doubts?

Doubt is a natural part of our day-to-day experience, a subtle yet powerful force that often makes us pause, question, and reflect. Whether it’s self-doubt, doubt in others, or doubt in the world around us, it can be both be a hindrance as well as a tool for our growth. In this blog, we’ll explore what doubt really means, why it arises, and how we can navigate through it to find clarity and confidence.

Is Doubt our indecisiveness, or uncertainty about something. Is it a question which asks you if something is White or black and you are not able to decipher between white and black. You end up saying it is between white and black i.e. something like a grey.

Why do we have doubts?

A very plain answer would be because there are number of unknowns associated with a particular thing on which we have doubt.

How do we get rid of doubts?

We need to resolve the unknowns that causes doubts. Get closer to the unknowns, and try to find out what it is. Get familiarity with those unknowns. Once you know the unknowns, you will have a clear idea of what it is and that will help to erase the cloud of doubt.

To give an example, in the middle of a peaceful night, suppose you hear some mysterious sound. This probably will seed the doubt in our mind. You start thinking about this sound and the cloud of doubt becomes stronger. So to get over this doubt, you decide to wake up from your sleep. You proceed towards the area from where the sound came and you see that there is a larger bag that has fallen from the roof of your house. So once you see this, the cloud of doubt starts to recede as you are now aware about what caused that sound. So now you are not in an unknown zone and once you are not in an unknown zone, the cloud of doubts is no more.

As much as we get close to knowing something, we are closer toward removing any doubts related to that particular thing.

You doubt yourself, then deep dive into your inner self and start knowing about yourself. The cloud of doubts will be erased once you know your inner self.

Acceptance is another mantra of removing doubt. You accept something as it is. Once your mind accepts, there is no question of any further doubts.
